Co-op bank named Best Financial Services Provider

coopbankfbaron460The Co-operative Bank has been named the UK’s best financial services provider at the 2009 Which? awards.

The ethical high street bank was praised for its range of financial services and high standards of customer service.

At the awards, held earlier this month, the bank was said to have successfully weathered the storm of the current financial crisis, and to have won the trust of its customers through high standards of service. It was also praised for its comprehensive range of current accounts, mortgages and savings products, which offered “value for money”.

Unlike many industry awards, the Which? awards are completely independent, and are based to a large extent on customer feedback. As such, being named the best financial services provider in the UK speaks volumes for the quality of service that the bank offers.

Because it is a co-operative, run by its customers and shareholder, the Cooperative Bank is fully funded, meaning it never lends out more money than iut has in customer current and savings accounts. It has therefore remained largely unaffected by the tightening lending conditions that have been imposed by many banks as a result of the credit crunch, and as such can offer competitive deals to both new and existing customers.

The Co-operative bank offers a whole range of financial services, including current and savings accounts, credit cards, loans, mortgages and insurance products.
