Savings top priority for Brit students

Students are most worried about saving their cash, with investing wisely coming above university fees in a new poll.
The research from the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) found that 28 per cent of students said they wanted to know more about savings, compared to 22 per cent who were concerned about their student costs.
Sylvia Perrins, chief executive officer for the NSAFS, said: "Young people are much more switched on to their money issues than people think and want to know more about how to fund themselves through their education and formative adult years."
The figures differed between geographical areas, with students in the east of England, north-west, south-west and Yorkshire and Humber being more concerned about bank accounts than their student fees.
Earlier this month, research by Nationwide revealed that the number of Brits saving either regularly or occasionally rose to 79 per cent in January, the highest since January.
