Housewives 'prefer more powerful cars'

A new survey has found that housewives tend to prefer more powerful cars than other women.
The poll, which was commissioned by women's car insurance specialist Diamond, found that housewives' vehicles are £1,530 more expensive than other women's motors on average.
In addition, they tend to have engines that are 282ccs larger than other women, but drive 619 miles a year less.
However, housewives seem to be less cautious on the roads, being 11 per cent more likely to have been convicted for speeding.
Sian Lewis, managing director of Diamond, commented: "Some of the figures were startling. The average value of housewives' cars is considerably higher, as is the engine size of the cars they drive."
In June, research carried out by the company found that the most common road accidents involving women are hitting another vehicle in the rear, striking a car from a minor road and reversing into another vehicle.
Men, on the other hand, are more likely to hit another road user when changing lanes and drive up or down an embankment.
