More than one million women 'admit to vandalising vehicles'

A new report from Direct Line has highlighted the importance of car insurance.
Research by the insurer has revealed that almost 1.5 million women have admitted to deliberately damaging a vehicle.
Damage caused reportedly ranged from breaking off car parts, smashing windows, scratching paintwork, slashing tyres and denting bodywork by 'car surfing'.
Of those who admitted to acts of vandalism, 23 per cent said they did it as a result of boredom and nine per cent put it down to being drunk.
For 62 per cent of women vandalism was a spur of the moment act, with eight per cent saying they were pressured into it by peers.
Commenting on the findings, psychotherapist Christine Webber said: "The growing trend of girl gang culture does seem to be responsible for a significant percentage of car vandalism crimes."
Elsewhere, Fair Investment has warned that the new equality bill could lead to higher car insurance premiums for low-risk drivers.
