TomTom has revealed the top ten traffic blackspots over the recent snow-affected weekend.
Data taken between Saturday February 4th and Monday February 6th showed that the M11, London to Cambridge, had delays of up to 429 minutes, while the M40, Buckinghamshire to Warwickshire, between J8a and J15 suffered waits of around 423 minutes.
Car insurance policyholders would have been cursing their luck on the M40 again, with jams between J9 and J3a lasting up to 388 minutes.
Further north, Yorkshire motorists were kept waiting on the A1(M) between J45 and J48 for around 381 minutes, the equivalent of more than four football matches.
Among the other roads which suffered delays of five hours or more were the M42, M1 and M25.
Much of the country was covered in snow between February 4th and 6th, and forecasters have warned that conditions could still be treacherous as it turns to ice.
Drivers should ensure that they change their style to suit the surrounds, with light acceleration and braking being the key to safety.
