Rising cost of living 'could turn Britain green'

Increasing fuel prices and energy bills could lead to a green revolution in Britain, according to Tesco.
A survey by the company suggests that rising living costs may lead to a 50 per cent rise in environmental activity.
Some 15 million homeowners said that they would be willing to go green in an attempt to save money.
Currently, 80 per cent of people in the UK pride themselves in being above average when it comes to environmentally awareness.
Approximately 39 million Brits claim they recycle household waste, two-thirds switch appliances off at the plug and 76 per cent use energy-saving light bulbs.
However, another 800,000 people admit they have made no lifestyle changes at all in the face of fears regarding our environmental future.
Paul Baxter from Tesco insists that helping the planet is not that hard.
He commented: "Going green takes a little bit of effort but can reap huge rewards in the long and short-term."
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's has advised that buying on credit cards is a flexible way to manage finances.
