Brits urged to take care of their possessions after reality...

Asda has called on people to make sure they have adequate home insurance after reality star Jade Goody was burgled.

Ms Goody fell victim to burglars for the third time at the weekend when she had £56,000 of jewels stolen.

It has been rumoured that Ms Goody's jewellery was on display and a window had been left open.

Asda states that if this was the case Ms Goody would not be protected under the majority of home insurance policies.

Included among the items stolen were a Tiffany necklace and a number of rings.

People are being urged to take extra care in securing their homes.

They are also being advised to make sure they have adequate insurance for high value items and to consider investing in an alarm system.

Gideon Ingham from Asda said: "Many households across the country will have at least a few precious items of jewellery and family heirlooms in their possession … we urge people to keep their valuables out of sight and preferably locked in a safe."

Meanwhile, Sainsbury's has warned that the number of items stolen from gardens is increasing.
