Home insurance 'a must' during festival season

People heading to music festivals this summer are being encouraged to compare home insurance products in a bid to find the best deals for them.
Thousands of Britons will head to a variety of festivals over the course of this summer, with the iconic Glastonbury festival now just a week away and a number of other events also set to take place in the weeks ahead.
However, revellers have been advised that they should make sure they have their home insurance policies in order before heading off to the events, otherwise they could find themselves out of pocket by the end of the summer.
Mike Pickard of esure home insurance explained that many people will suffer personal items being stolen, lost or damaged during festivals and as such taking out home insurance to cover the cost of them could be crucial.
"Festivals such as Glastonbury are havens for opportunistic thieves and pick-pockets and the very nature of these types of music events radically increases the likelihood of belongings being accidentally dropped, misplaced or damaged," he explained.
Meanwhile, home insurance claims have already increased in recent weeks due to flash flooding in parts of the country.
