Legal cover 'offers more protection'

Opting to add legal cover to home insurance can help to ensure that individuals are not left with large legal bills if they get into disputes with neighbours, it has been suggested.
As there has been an increase in the number of people that get into disputes with their neighbours, opting to take out legal cover as part of a home insurance package can help to cover any costs from such disagreements, said Kelly Ostler-Coyle, a spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers, has said.
"If you think that if you were to get into a legal argument you would not be able to afford those expenses, then it is something you should be thinking about" when opting to choose a home insurance policy, Ms Ostler-Coyle pointed out.
She also noted that the as with all insurance products, you will not know if you need cover until you need it.
According to Citizens Advice, even if disputes are successfully settled through the courts, the relationship between neighbours may be damaged.
