Tory leader's stolen bike 'highlights importance of home insurance'

The theft of David Cameron's bike last week highlights the fact cyclists should ensure they are covered for such an eventuality on their home insurance policy, according to Asda Financial Services.
The Conservative leader, who is a well-known cyclist, had his mountain bike stolen outside a supermarket in Notting Hill last Thursday.
Over the past year, Asda claims about 2,000 bikes have been stolen in London, including that of London Mayor Boris Johnson.
Gideon Ingham from Asda said: "Cyclists should make sure they're not left out of pocket by ensuring valuable bikes have adequate cover and are always listed amongst their personal possessions."
He added bikes should always be stored securely in order to make life as difficult as possible for thieves.
In related news, research carried out earlier this month by Tescocompare.com revealed investing in a burglar alarm does not necessarily bring down the cost of home insurance premiums.
