Car insurance customers should plan ahead for long summer drives

Car insurance policyholders holidaying in Britain this year should check traffic information and weather updates before starting a long journey.
This is according to the Highways Agency, which claims that with many schools breaking up for the end of term there will be lots more motorists on the UK's roads.
The organisation noted that vast amounts of Brits will be heading to holiday destinations and the coast this summer, so it is important people make sure they plan ahead for their drives in the next couple of weeks.
Mike Penning, road minister, said: "A few moments checking traffic conditions before you set off could take a lot of stress out of the journey.
"There are also plenty of ways to check for updates whenever you stop for a break, which you should do every two hours."
Recently, research from Confused.com revealed that nearly half of UK car insurance customers attempt unsafe overtakes to pass slow moving vehicles, which causes around 143 accidents each year.
