Home insurance can get customers Nectar points

Sainsbury's Home Insurance has launched a new online customer offer for people purchasing combined buildings and contents cover.

When buying the policy over the internet consumers who have a Nectar card will receive a £40 gift card to use in its stores and benefit from extra points.

This is in conjunction with its three-way discount package that gives customers a five per cent online discount, 15 per cent for taking out combined cover and people who have had a policy claim-free for five years can benefit from 30 per cent discount.

Ben Tyte, home insurance manager at Sainsbury's, said: "Home insurance policies vary a great deal so it's essential people compare them not only on price but also on the level of cover they provide."

He added that while trying to provide a competitive home insurance policy, with the Nectar card offer shoppers can also save money in the long run.

Recently, Family Investments found that many homes are going to need to find extra money throughout 2011 because on average household savings will be reduced by nearly £400 following the chancellor's Budget.
