People 'must make sure their car insurance is up-to-date'

Car insurance customers have been told that they must have a valid policy on their vehicles by the time a new law comes in next month.
According to Moneysupermarket.com, one in six Brits has admitted to not having car insurance, which adds an extra £30 onto the top of every driver's cover.
However, from June the Continuous Insurance Enforcement (CIE) comes into force and requires all car, van and motorbike drivers to have up-to-date insurance on their vehicles, even if they do not intend to drive it.
Peter Harrison, car insurance expert at Moneysupermarket.com, said: "The number of drivers prepared to hit the road without insurance is a huge concern.
"With CIE legislation coming into force next month, it should help drive down the number of uninsured drivers on our roads," he added.
Recently, the British Insurance Brokers Association welcomed a new TV campaign from the Motor Insurers' Bureau launched today to raise awareness of the government's crackdown on uninsured drivers.
