BGL Group launches it first life insurance product with Ageas Protect

The BGL Group has moved into the life insurance market in conjunction with Ageas Protect.

It was announced that the firm will launch a new product for UK customers that is the country's first 'instant' life insurance policy that will be made available for Brits taking out general cover.

People taking out the Budget Life Insurance policy will not have to go through a lengthy application process or have a medical exam, it has been claimed.

Furthermore, the policy will be underwritten by Ageas Protect and is available for anyone buying home or motor cover from BGL.

Martin Werth, managing director at Ageas Protect, said: "The launch of Budget Life Insurance is a significant step in our objective of bridging the protection gap and building consumer confidence, by removing unnecessary insurer complexity."

Recently, Friends Life announced that its new senior management team will drive forward a number of investment and insurance products during 2011.
