Shop around for best life insurance deals

Shopping around is the key to picking up the best life insurance policies in the current economic climate, according to financial services provider LifeSearch.

The group went on to say finding the right type of policy, buying enough cover, making use of assets under trust and considering single life instead of joint life policies can help consumers pick through all the options and choose the best policy for them.

In a statement, the group said that high street mortgage lenders and supermarkets are usually tied to just one provider and can be very expensive.

"Make sure you speak to a company that is not tied to just one insurer and can advise you on the best policy for your own unique circumstances. Remember that no one insurance company can ever be competitive or suitable for everyone," the organisation added.

Earlier this week, independent financial advice group Motley Fool commented that people in the UK are becoming more concerned about their finances and are saving money as a result.
