Taking out life insurance at a young age is a sensible idea

Taking out a life insurance policy at a young age is a sensible option, it has been claimed.

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), many people can be put off taking out life insurance cover because nobody really likes to think about death.

The organisation noted that lots of Brits take out a policy for their car or house, yet many do not adequately protect themselves.

Malcolm Tarling, spokesman for the ABI, said: "Taking out life insurance is a pretty sensible measure, not least of all for younger people, when life products and protection products are normally at their cheapest."

Recently, the BGL Group announced its move into the life insurance market with a product that is made available to customers when they take out general cover for their home or car.

The firm's policies are to be underwritten by Ageas Protect and will mean that people do not have to go through a lengthy process or undertake a medical exam to get life insurance.
