M&S wins loan award

High street lender M&S Money has been named as the best personal loan provider at the Your Money Direct Awards.

For those looking at potential loans to take out, the news could be useful as M&S Money says it offers competitive rates and was highlighted by the panel for concise explanations of different products.

The company also won an award for the best credit card provider, making it the recipient of this title for the third consecutive year. Consumers are entitled to six months of zero per cent interest shopping from when their M&S credit card account is opened.

M&S Money deputy chief executive Andy Ripley said the awards were "meaningful" and welcomed customer feedback.

"However, we are not complacent and we always strive to enhance our service and provide value for money products," he added.

In related news, the potential benefits of credit cards with reward points were recently highlighted by Sainsbury's Finance head of cards Donald MacLeod.

He advised people to pick a scheme that was straightforward and enabled them to easily redeem accrued points.
