Quarter of Brits are worried about their financial position

Four in ten Brits have been left worried about their financial position as they compare the potential effects of the Budget, according to research from uSwitch.com

The report found that 20 per cent of people now feel less confident about their jobs, while a third feel worse off after the Budget.

On top of this 58 per cent say now is not a time to make any major financial decisions or life changes.

Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, said: "Wednesday's Budget may have been billed as a growth budget, but consumer confidence has remained low.

"A quarter (24 per cent) feel less confident about the country's finances, showing we're not out of the woods just yet," she added.

Furthermore, according to a third of consumers the biggest issue the government needs to address is unemployment, followed by the benefits system and national debt.

Recently, research from Moneysupermarket.com revealed that 86 per cent of people feel the 1p per litre reduction in fuel duty will make no difference to their finances.
