One-quarter 'take dogs on holiday'

One-quarter of dog owners plan their holidays around the needs of their canine companion, it has been claimed.
In a poll which may interest pet insurance holds, Tesco Personal Finance discovered that 83 per cent of dog owners say that leaving their animal in kennels while they take their vacation is not an option.
The survey revealed that one-quarter admit to choosing an overseas holiday that they know their dog is able to attend, while 12 per cent say they will definitely take their pet on their next break.
Rachel Cutler, head of Tesco Pet Insurance says, "As a nation of animal lovers, it is telling that a quarter of us organise our holidays around our pets."
Furthermore, the organisation pointed out that pet insurance which includes travel options can be used to cover quarantine costs if a dog falls ill and pay for a lost animal passport.
Recent research from Sainsbury's Finance found that 20 per cent of cat and dog owners have seen behavioural problems in their pet over the last year.
