Brits are seeking thrills on holiday 'without checking travel insurance'

One in six Brits have admitted they would take part in an adventure sport knowing they would not be covered by their travel insurance if they got injured, according to research by esure.
A survey by the insurance company found that a quarter of British holidaymakers now choose their destination based on the availability of activities such as scuba diving, white water rafting and bungee jumping.
However, one in ten wrongly believes that all travel insurance policies cover adventurous activities as standard, while only two-thirds would check what cover they had before taking part in a potentially dangerous sport.
A further 15 per cent said they would make a booking for an activity even if they knew perfectly well they would not be covered should anything go wrong.
Mike Pickard from esure warned: "Get injured and the medical bills could turn a paradise trip into a nightmare."
Elsewhere, Lonely Planet has reported that backpackers are willing to "splurge" while on the road to ensure they have the best possible time.
