Cheap insurance 'is available for those travelling to Beijing'

People planning to attend the Olympic Games in Beijing this summer need to ensure they have adequate travel insurance in place before setting off, according to moneysupermarket.com.
Research by the group found 14 per cent of Brits do not buy insurance when they go abroad.
However, the company states, although travel insurance may seem like a costly extra on top of the price of travel and accommodation, there are good deals to be had.
Travellers are advised to compare insurance deals rather than simply going for the first offer they find.
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at moneysupermarket.com, said: "With worldwide insurance costing less than a souvenir t-shirt there is really no excuse to travel without cover."
A recent survey by Tesco which highlighted the importance of travel insurance found nine per cent of Brits have had their wallet or purse stolen while on holiday in a foreign country.
