Regular flyers could save up to 15% on costs with annual...

Frequent flyers could save up to 15 per cent on premium costs if they take out annual travel insurance.

Research by moneysupermarket.com revealed that people who head overseas two or more times a year can reduce their insurance costs.

Furthermore, it found that the levels of cover particularly for medical expenses, lost baggage and cancellations tend to be more generous on an annual policy.

Bob Atkinson, travel insurance expert at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Holidaymakers need to think carefully about how often they plan to travel per year and if it is more likely they will travel to a long haul destination such as the US, then it is definitely worth paying for an annual policy."

Recently, ABTA - the Travel Association – revealed that many UK vacationers stated they would prefer to cut back on home improvement projects and food shopping rather than miss out on their yearly overseas break.

On top of this, one in five claim that they regard their foreign holiday as a 'necessity they could not do without'.
